We’re excited to announce the launch of our latest free course: Building Multimodal Healthcare AI Systems with Deep Lake.
Healthcare AI is evolving rapidly, and multimodal data, including text, medical images, signals, and literature, is at the center of this transformation. We’ve partnered with Bayer in Radiology, AWS, and Intel Corporation to bring you this hands-on course that shows you how to build robust, data-centric healthcare AI systems with Deep Lake, Activeloop’s database for AI.
The course walks through the integration of Deep Lake with the Croissant file format, the use of Deep Lake to process a large natural language dataset of adverse drug effects into a query-ready format and apply generative AI to search the data, and the integration of Deep Lake with LLMs to generate natural language labels for image datasets, applicable to radiology. It also introduces Activeloop’s chat with the L0 reasoning model, demonstrated through a comprehensive literature review of adverse drug effects research papers.
The final chapter demonstrates how to unify and index diverse biomedical datasets, including PubMed articles, assay tables, and genomic sequences, on an AWS Sagemaker Lakehouse with Deep Lake, enabling powerful AI Search to accelerate drug discovery. By unifying multimodal scientific data on Sagemaker Lakehouse with Deep Lake’s advanced indexing capabilities, we enable researchers to seamlessly connect textual, numerical, and visual information, accelerating the identification of promising compounds.

Big Upgrade to learn.activeloop.ai
Alongside this release, we’ve upgraded our existing courses to incorporate the latest technologies. All courses now run on Deep Lake 4.0 and take advantage of the most recent versions of LangChain, LlamaIndex, and other key libraries, ensuring learners get the most up-to-date tools and practices. Further, learners will now be able to get access to their Activeloop tokens through our new chat interface at chat.activeloop.ai, where they can also leverage Activeloop’s L0 reasoning model to chat with their data.
Special thank you to Vitor Freitas (AWS), Gitika Vijh (AWS), Susan Marquez (Intel Corporation) and Arijit Bandyopadhyay (Intel Corporation).
